KC08: 9N/10D - SANGLA JOURNEY SPECIAL - Kinner Camps

This trip can be tackled only after Rohtang-Pass re-opens (after mid-June)


DAY 1: Chandigarh to Narkanda

The journey will start after arrival at Chandigarh, from where we go to Narkanda, which is at a distance of approximately 180 kms (5 to 6 hours). Spend night at hotel.


DAY 2: Narkanda to Sangla

After an early breakfast, we depart for Sangla. Check-in at Sangla Camps to begin your tour in exploring the breathtaking Sangla Valley, with Sangla Camps hospitality.


DAY 3: Excursion to Chitkul and Nagasti

Today, we bring packed lunch and move to Chitkul, the final Indian village on the Indo-Tibet border. Go through the surroundings of Chitkul, which is also known globally to make the top quality potatoes. Stroll to Nagasti (2.5kms), which is the final Indian civilian point. Move back to camp, rejuvenate with tea/coffee, snacks, and traverse the camp area. Relish a sizzling campfire at night, continued by dinner.


DAY 4: Explore Kamroo and Sangla Villages

Move to Kamroo village, the foremost village to have been colonized in the valley. Witness an amazing sight of Sangla valley, dotted with deodhar, wild peach trees, apricot, and walnut, along with apple orchards. Also explore the tower like Kamroo fort. Go through Sangla village, Nag Devta temple, and Kamakhya devi temple. Come back to camp and rejuvenate with snacks. Explore the surroundings or the day left would be for relaxation. On days three and four, get yourself involved in adventure activities in your spare time.


DAY 5: Trek to Batseri - Glacier Walk - Rakchham

Stroll to Batseri village, with its attractive wood carvings of the Lord Badrinarayan temple and latest wooden house. After the temple visit, indulge yourself in experiencing a glacier walk. After that, stroll along the Baspa River to the picturesque Rakchham village, and carry packed lunch along the way by the river at a place where you can look the ultimate and stunning Kinner Kailash Mountain, that is said to be the winter home of Lord Shiva, Hindu God.


DAY 6: Sangla - Recong Peo - Nako

After a primary breakfast, we depart for Nako. Explore Recong Peo and Kalpa, where you can look the amazing other face of Kinner Kailash. En-route, take a short interval at Khab and take a deep glance of the meeting of the Sutlej and Spiti rivers. Spend night at Kinner Camp, Nako.


DAY 7: Explore Nako, Chango, and Leo Villages

Visit Nako with its thousand year ancient monastery and footprints of Lord Padmasambhava. After breakfast, drive to Leo and Chango villages. Packed lunch will be offered. Come back to camp for yummy snacks and dinner.


Day 8: Nako to Sarahan - Visit to Bheemakali Temple

After taking early breakfast, enjoy a pleasant drive to Sarahan. Sarahan is enclosed by apple orchards, and from Sarahan you can eyewitness the Shrikhand Mahadev Peak (5155 metres). You can explore the popular Bheema Kali temple, an amazing mixture of Hindu and Buddhist architecture. It is very spiritual to both the communities. Night stay at hotel.


DAY 9: Sarahan to Shimla/Chail

Today, we go away from the lovely Sangla Valley and leave for Shimla/Chail. A pleasant drive along the Sutlej River. Spend night at hotel.


DAY 10: Shimla/Chail to Chandigarh

The tour finishes on reaching Chandigarh. Leave from Chandigarh to come back home, bringing with you some remarkable memories of Sangla.
